Open Position: Branch and Project Manager East Asia
If you don’t know Marlinks…
We’re a small and young engineering and technology company delivering cutting-edge cable monitoring solutions for the offshore wind industry. If that sounds niche, it’s because it is. But our ambitions are world-wide and we’ve been active outside our native Belgium for years. We opened a branch office in Taiwan in order to be closer to the booming action in Taiwan and the Asia-Pacific region.
What are we looking for?
A branch and project manager for our East Asia branch. That’s more than one hat to wear, because that’s project manager, business developer, as well as administrator all in one package.
What does that mean?
First and foremost: a bridge builder. Someone who can bridge the linguistic and cultural gaps between Europe and Asia, but also the timezone gap. As a project manager this means planning, executing and finalizing Marlinks’ projects in the region in consultation
with HQ and local partners; As a business developer, traveling the East Asian region and representing Marlinks at conferences and trade shows.
We also need that someone to be our eyes and hands on the ground during installation. Someone who feels comfortable plugging in wires and cables or analysing existing infrastructure and report back to HQ.
The Taiwan branch manager works alone, some 6-7 hours ahead of HQ. This means that we expect them to have a high level of discipline and not to be afraid to take initiative. They’ll frequently deal with technical subjects and while prior knowledge is not required,
they should be eager to learn about various engineering and IT topics.
What’s in it for me?
First of all, we’re asking you to juggle, but not to struggle. Marlinks will 100% support you from its HQ and we’ll go out of our way to make sure you have the knowledge and help you need to succeed.
In return for this versatility, Marlinks also offers comfortable compensation and loads of flexibility: choose your own working hours and choose your own location within Taiwan. Rent a co-working space in Taipei or work from home in Taichung, the choice is up to you, and Marlinks will support your moving there.
You’ll also get to associate yourself with one of Belgium’s most exciting companies, a truly wonderful team and acquaint yourself with a technology that has a beautiful and bright future. When it comes to the energy transition, you get to call yourself part of the solution.
