Your Role

As a Operational and Project IT Support, you will:

  • Supporting project engineers with their IT needs (setting up temporary networks and data flows, configuring servers …)
  • Maintenance of server, sensor and fiber optic equipment in remote locations (e.g. at sea)
  • Ensuring a smoothly functioning office IT infrastructure that complies and stays compliant with our information security policy
  • Adhere to and enforce sound security practices set out in the ISP

Your Profile

 

We are looking for someone who:

  • Highly independent and creative troubleshooter, able to find, read and understand logs
  • Comfortable setting up and configuring Debian-based Linux servers using the CLI
  • Intermediate understanding of networking: you can configure routers and switches, set up VPN tunnels and firewalls, and troubleshoot them
  • Basic understanding of the AzureAD and MS 365 platforms
  • Good knowledge of Windows: you can assist staff with questions about their laptops and their software
  • Intermediate affinity with Python and Bash scripting. You can read a python program and debug it, and you can write simple scripts to aid you in your tasks.
  • Rigorous approach to information security
  • Fluent in at least English, fluency in Dutch highly preferred
  • Flexible. There are a diversity of tasks to divide over a small number of people, so your role may evolve.
Pluses:
 
  • Linux is your daily driver
  • Knowledge of Ansible and Docker/Podman
  • Any other programming languages
  • Other Linux distributions: Redhat, OpenSUSE
  • Windows Server
  • Physically fit for seafaring and climbing missions, as well as some manual handling (you may need to obtain a GWO certificate)
