About

Precision and custom made monitoring hardware services.

All Marlinks monitoring services are hardware independent and can be installed according to the existing hardware available at your side. However, we also do carefully select and provide reliable Distributed Temperature Sensing (DTS) and Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) devices. Correctly calibrated, and ready to use.

Hardware independent

We have selected the highest quality suppliers for their ability to accurately and timely feed our decision-support services.

Custom made hardware

We can adapt the hardware to the current situation by using existing hardware or providing new hardware that fits the project.

Precise calibrations

By calibrating the DTS or DAS correctly, we can use the best data to provide real-time analytics and actionable insights.

Monitoring sensing devices

We are your guide to the best monitoring hardware.

As a world leader in subsea cable monitoring services we provide and calibrate only the best DTS and DAS devices. We have selected the highest quality suppliers for their ability to accurately and timely feed our decision-support services with the data it needs to offer you real-time analytics and insights.

Distributed Temperature Sensing (DTS)

Distributed Temperature Sensing (DTS) uses fiber optic sensor cables, typically over lengths of several kilometers, that function as linear temperature sensors. The result is a continuous temperature profile along the entire length of the sensor cable. DTS utilizes the Raman effect to measure temperature. An optical laser pulse sent through the fiber results in some scattered light reflecting back to the transmitting end, where the information is analyzed.

Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS)

Distributed Acoustic/ Vibrational Sensing systems detect vibrations and capture acoustic energy along optical fibers. Existing fiber optic networks along the asset are utilized and turned into a distributed acoustic sensor, capturing real-time data and helping operators take right actions. Classification algorithms are used to detect and locate events such as Cable Protection System (CPS monitoring), cable faults, intrusion activities, or other abnormal sounds.
