Complement and expand our decision support by calling upon our supporting services. We offer our expertise in all lifecycle stages of an offshore wind farm and for various stakeholder groups. From better cable decisions, both for operational and developing wind farms.
Seabed mobility studies
We can monitor sediment behavior and seabed mobility for your assets, using our extensive experience and datasets. The variables we use for our modelling are numerical or analytical, and take into account soil properties and hydrodynamic changes. The outcome of these models is then used to predict morphological processes.
Thermal modeling
Let us assist you in designing the most performant cable route and avoid cable overheating. Thanks to our deep understanding of the soil encapsulating a cable, we can use various soil parameters to predict the heat trajectory from cable to seawater, including conductive and convective behavior. Marlinks will gladly assist you to validate the modeling results in a lab tests.
Continuous risk assessment
The Carbon Trust CBRA Methodology (CTC835) determines the methodology for cable risk assessment. Three parameters are usually taken into account: fishing, anchoring and burial depth. Although these conditions are often considered to be constant, they are not. Burial depth in particular is prone to significant change due to seabed mobility. Marlinks software automatically updates risk assessment based on the cable’s burial depth.
Hardware Services
Precision monitoring hardware devices.
Our subsea Marlinks services are hardware independent and our monitoring services can be installed according to the existing hardware available at your side. However, we also do carefully select and provide reliable Distributed Temperature Sensing (DTS) and Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) devices. Correctly calibrated, and ready to use.
